What happens at the age of 8

I am curious to hear more about why you believe that children are "entitled" only until the age or 7 or 8. Would you please expand on your views, experience and beliefs as to what happens at the age of 7 or 8 that triggers the being lucky to get O2 and needing to earn everything one gets.
