Once a year we move the manure out of the horse area down onto a field near us. We’ve been planning this for some time. The manure must be dry enough. The forest roads have to be clear. The gate from field to the country road has to be open - it's normally padlocked. The truck has to be running and fueled. The tractor has to be running and fueled. And the 1939 John Deere spreader has to be working. Then we have to move the horses out of the way, into the lower pasture, and off we go.
Drive spreader to horse area. Load spreader with tractor. Drive spreader into forest, to the field and spread. And repeat, till done. Bought the Corona and pizza yesterday. Be back at writing when done.

Did 8 loads of the stuff. Nothing major broke down.
July 25th Addendum: Did one more load on Monday AM. Put all the equipment away. Done!
